Network Marketing opportunities are pretty much a dime a dozen these days. Over the past several years, it seems like a new opportunity pops out of the woodwork every couple of seconds. Knowing that, the question that I get on a consistent basis is how does one go about getting involved in solid Network Marketing opportunities?
To be honest with you, sometimes it’s a bit difficult to separate the good from the bad, because at the end of the day, the person telling you about the opportunity usually has some sort of financial interest in it, so they aren’t exactly going to be forthcoming with any negatives or downsides.
With that being the case, many people turn to the Internet to try and find unbiased reviews, but trust me when I tell you, there aren’t many honest reviews to be had. This is due to the fact that in *most* cases, the folks leaving the reviews online, like the people telling you about the opportunity in the “real world” have a financial interest.
What this means is, when you are researching Network Marketing opportunities, it’s best to do some hard research, both online and offline. Here are a few things you can do to make sure that you get all of the details both positive and negative.
One way that I like to get some dirt is to ask the person telling me about the opportunity to give me the name and phone number of at least 3 other people who they have gotten involved. This way I can talk to these folks and ask them what kind of support they have received, whether or not they are making any money, and if the opportunity itself was described accurately to them before they decided to become involved.
In most cases, by speaking to other people involved that don’t have a direct financial interest in the decision you make, you are able to actually learn the truth. In some cases, things are exactly the way that they were described. However, in other cases, you will hear some real horror stories. Things like sponsors disappearing after they signed up, poor management, and problems with the actual products that the opportunity sells.
